Dinner is a High-Tech Experience at Kura Revolving Sushi Bar

Although the sushi chefs at Kura Revolving Sushi Bar are definitely human, they’re pretty much the only staff you’ll see. The rest of the restaurant is run by robots—really. Every table is outfitted with a tablet that allows you to pick and choose as many sushi small plates as you want, and the conveyor belt brings them right to you. Then a robot conveys your drinks and condiments from the kitchen.

The fun experience is second only to the high quality of Japanese cuisine. Start with some nigiri, such as the albacore otoro, the umami oil salmon, and the yuzu-jalapeno tuna. Then share a few rolls like the salmon golden crunchy roll and the red dragon roll. Toss a few spicy bites into the mix, maybe the garlic-tempura Philadelphia roll or the spicy crunchy “taco.” Round out the meal with a few hand rolls stuffed with eel, spicy tuna, or veggies, and add kitchen bites such as shishito salmon skin and chicken gyoza dumplings for the last dinner course. If you still have room for dessert, don’t miss the mochi ice cream.
